For 9th grade, BJU Press curriculum includes a study of early Christianity complements a course in Cultural Geography and a new emphasis on literary elements and analysis. Physical Science and Algebra 1 introduce your child to fresh applications of learning to daily life. Writing, vocabulary, and English grammar continue to be reinforced and augmented.
In 10th grade of the BJU Press curriculum, students enjoy an in-depth review of key historical events in world history and a survey of Old Testament books and the timeless truths they teach. The study of biology includes biblical perspectives on current social issues. Geometry joins abstract math concepts with real-life problems to enhance student understanding. Advanced literary concepts and creative writing projects build critical thinking and communication skills.
11th-12th grade: 11th grade students continue with the BJU curriculum with an emphasis on hands-on, applied learning pervades the study of chemistry, the Epistles, American literature, American history, and Algebra 2.
12th grade students focus on independent, biblically-informed decision-making and effective communication. Physics takes high school science to the next level of research and application, while a study of American history and government prepares the student to be a responsible citizen and voter. Advanced math concepts, an exploration of British literature, and increased writing instruction hone critical thinking skills.
In addition to the rigorous BJU curriculum, 11th and 12th grades students can have the option to earn high school and college credits by participating in the dual enrollment option from Southern Crescent Technology or Gordon State College.
